Blend all the ingredients for the pesto (expect the oil) in a blender.
Stream in the oil until emulsified.
Boil the pasta in a large pot a salted water, until al dente.
Place the pasta in a pan with the pesto, cream, and pasta water.
Cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce becomes thick.
Serve with parmesan and chicken, if desired.
