Quick and Easy French Toast

Jump to Recipe

French toast is a classic breakfast dish that can be customized to your taste. It can be topped with anything from fresh fruit and whipped cream, to cinnamon sugar and apple pie filling. French toast is great for anyone, any day of the week.

I would recommend using stale and thick slices bread, but french toast can be made with conventional sliced white bread as well. Soaking time may vary depending on how moist the bread is, (the more fresh the bread the less time it needs to be soaked in the custard, and vice versa).

Whisk all the ingredients for the custard in a bowl until combined.

Add the bread, and allow it to soak for 30-60 minutes per side until saturated.

Add to the pan, and cook on medium-high heat until golden brown on each side.

Top with sugar, fresh fruit, whipped cream, and/or chocolate sauce. Enjoy!
